We are Erick and Susan Gary, owners of Top Dog Pet Sitters in McKinney, Texas.
Our family has loved Carmi (a Cockapoo), Maggie, (a Mini Schnauzer), Sasha (an Adora-doodle), Lexie (a Morkie), Keena, and Daisy as well as cats Peanut, Moe, Addie, Dahlia, and Milo, guinea pigs Henry and Charlie, fish (Fish, Athena, Calypso, Blart) and frogs.
Pet Psychology & Pet Sitting Experience
People often ask us how we got started in this business. Top Dog Pet Sitters evolved from our life experiences. Susan is an ordained minister and left congregational ministry in 2011. Erick works in the defense industry. For 30+ years we have provided care for our friend’s and neighbor’s pets when they needed help and always enjoyed doing so. When we became “empty nesters”, Susan wanted to fill her extra time doing “something”, in addition to her full time job. She worked quite some time for a pet sitting business, loving it immensely, but observed a number of ways pet care and customer service could be improved. We combined Susan’s professional pet sitting experience, her certificate in pet psychology, her calling to care for people, combined our love for animals, and Top Dog Pet Sitters was born.
The other question people ask us is why we take care of pets. True, cleaning out a litter box, sweating in the Texas heat and walking in the rain are not glamorous ways to spend a day. Caring for pets, and their humans, is a calling for us. We are professional pet care providers committed to providing the highest level of pet and client care in the McKinney community.
